Wtf happened to Tweepy? Back in college it used to be one of my favorite as I coukd scrape the hell out of twitter and make cool weekend projects from my dorms.
After years I tried using it again. Now that it’s X. I thought it would be better. I could not have been more wrong.
This shit is unusable. Well, if I even get to use it first. The whole shift from V1.1 while having v2 oauth is horrendous.
First of all I dont remember having this $100 premium back in twitter days or even if it was there the free access fulfilled all my needs.
Now the free version is hot garbage. 1500 read requests a month and the auth configs are buggy as hell. Ive had to regenerate my api keys and bearer keys 5 times, to no avail.
Ive given up on this shit for tonight. For my project Ill start scraping other sites that dont make my life miserable like reddit or fuck it maybe even hacker news. Anything to get the clean data I can get my hands on.
Call it XPY for all I give af. Xpi might sound cooler. Just PLEASE.
